Episode Four: Dinner Time

Image
Regan was ready for dinner when she parked her bike in the garage. It had been a long but successful day. She mentally planned out what research she was going to do while she ate and for later that evening. When she reached for the door to the base, she suddenly remembered that CORE may be in that room. Shrugging, she put her motorcycle helmet on again and walked through the door. Oh, she thought as she realized she had forgotten that Metaclash and Emerald were coming over. “Ah, you’re back,” Emerald said cheerfully. “Metaclash and I had just decided to make spaghetti.” A couple metal pots were floating through the air as Metaclash used his powers to take them out of the cupboard. The pots paused midair for a moment as Metaclash smiled and waved at Ace before going back to chopping some lettuce. Regan watched as one pan landed on the stove and the other floated under the faucet and started being filled with water. Regan turned and walked toward her room while hearing Emerald

The History of Rosevine City: An Overview

Daniella Fein Mrs. Kate Johnson History 2 18 September 2020 The History of Rosevine City: An Overview             When the settlers first started moving West, some landed on the spot now known as Rosevine City. The first people to settle there were Elias Vine, whose statue is now erected in the city’s town square and whose descendants are still major powers in the city, and his family. Many settlers ended up building their homesteads in the area because of how beautiful and suitable the area was. The nearby lake made water easily accessible and the wild roses that grew there, which have long since stopped growing in the area, made the area all the more appealing. The area soon became a major trading stop. People enjoyed the friendly locals and often decided to travel the extra miles to do their trading “where the roses grow.” As the population quickly grew large enough to become a city and needed a government to keep order, a council was put together and Elias Vine was name

Episode Three: Investigation Part 2

Waking up the next morning, Ace decided to check the scenes of the thefts while keeping her eye out for anything that resembled the piece of metal while she was out. During the day, it would be too difficult to search the buildings as the Mysterious Ace of Spades; today, she would have to go back to being Regan Willis, high school student. After changing her clothes, and realizing that it was probably a good idea to wash her costume, Regan peeked out her door to see if CORE was anywhere to be seen. She mostly trusted the robot, but she didn’t know if someone could be watching through him and she couldn’t put her secret identity at risk. As an extra precaution, she pulled up her hoodie before leaving her room. The garage at their base was meant to hold a team of heroes’ vehicles. Currently, it held only her motorcycle. Regan clicked a button on her motorcycle, changing the color from black to red and allowing the license plate to be seen. She plopped her helmet on her head and was o

Episode Two: Investigation Part 1

When CORE returned from his second trip around the city, he found Ace sitting on the floor with papers scattered all around her. “What are those?” CORE asked as Ace looked up from her work. “Copies of the police reports,” she said before looking back down. CORE looked around at the papers before coming up with another question, “How did you get them?” “I went and grabbed them,” she said before finding a somehow judgmental android. “I’ll give them back,” she said defensively. After noting the pattern in which Ace was sorting the papers, CORE helped her sort through them. As time went on and it got darker outside, CORE noticed that Ace had started to work more slowly. He watched her head look up towards the kitchen before she shook her head ever so slightly. “Notice here,” Ace said picking up a paper. “This string of burglaries started recently. They all appear to be targeted thefts.” She picked up all of the reports that followed the trend and wrote the names of the items

Episode One: Moving In

CORE inconspicuously flew into the base using its secret entrance. He was coming back from looking for whatever monster had done so much harm to the city. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful and came back only because he needed to recharge. Out of habit, if robots had habits, he scanned the room as he walked in. Strangely, there was a heat signature. CORE went over to the signature and found the Ace of Spades lying on the base’s couch. “What are you doing here?” CORE's electronic voice asked. “Am I not allowed to be here?” she asked. “You are allowed.” He paused then continued, “How did you know where the base was?” “Emerald found me when I was on patrol and told me about it when they finished it last month. Which one’s my room?” she asked. “The first room on the right is empty.” Ace picked herself up from the couch and went into the room CORE had indicated. CORE was about to go to his room to plug himself in, but a knock caused him to change his course. CORE b

Rosevine City Heroes Introduction

First, you need to understand that the heroes were not wrong to leave the city in the hands of their young counterparts. The elder heroes had studied them to make sure they could handle the responsibility of being left alone. When it was time to go to the next city, they needed to be sure that this one was taken care of. The young heroes of Rosevine City were the most mysterious of the heroes under the “super council,” mainly because they were the newest. One was an android of some sort called CORE. The other, of whom less was known, was called the Ace of Spades. Before Metaclash and Emerald left, they established a base for the city's heroes. It was in the center of town, but it was remarkably unremarkable. It looked like nothing more than any other private building. Metaclash and Emerald knew that CORE went to the base. The robot had set up his charging and uploading systems in one of its rooms. About Ace, on the other hand, they had no idea. It is possible that she had be
